Mother Earth - demo MMXV (2015)

MOTHER EARTH "Demo MMXV"

Year: 2015
Genre: Blackened Crust
Country: Guatemala

Track List:
  1. Su Progreso Nuestra Muerte
  2. Holocausto Ambiental
  3. Usutz'al Juyub' Sampual'
  4. 500 Años De Muerte
  5. El Oro O La Vida
bandcamp

Here's environmentalist blackened crust/d-beat from Guatemala, which is a quite rare thing. Found it thanks to gnwp.ru and D-Beat Warriors. The demo is fairly short and consists of 5 reasonably raw sounding tracks. As far as I can understand, the lyrics are about environmentalism, anti-neoliberalism, and native/pre-Columbian civilizations of the Americas (not sure about the last one, though).

Aether - "Altar" (2015)

AETHER "Altar"

Year: 2015
Genre: Ambient/Drone, Black Noise
Country: Germany

bandcamp

Aether is an one-man ambient black metal project by Ravachol from Munich, Germany, which I discovered due to this review by Hayduke X. Here's the latest up-to-date release from Aether, consisting of two long untitled tracks. There's not much metal on this one, it's mostly experimental stuff, but it's definitely BM-influenced and it isn't as noisy as you might think. The release comels along with a short essay about its concept.

Cedar Dreamer - split w/ Organelle (2015)

CEDAR DREAMER "split w/ Organelle"

Year: 2015
Genre: Post-Rock/Ambient
Country: USA

Track List:
  1. Anew
  2. Radiant Spring
bandcamp

Some more stuff from Olympia, WA. Cedar Dreamer is a non-BM solo project of a member of With The End in Mind; something in between of post-rock and ambient/drone in terms of sound. These who long tracks are the Side B of a split cassette tape (side A by Organelle can be heard here).

"...With The End In Mind has been featured on the RABM blog several times, and although this project has a markedly different sound and feel, it comes from the same intention and inspiration that has created the blackened metallic Cascadian sounds of WTEIM. Cedar Dreamer is focused on reverence and respect for the beauty and raw power of Earth, and a firm resistance towards all who destroy and desecrate it..."

You probably already are familiar with this band from Olympia, WA, because of their split w/ Mania posted on here some time ago. Here's their latest full-length album, titled "Into the Æther":

"We are a black metal band that plays a very crusty and psychedelic form of cascadian black metal. We are punks who play metal and our lyrics deal with many topics that are very relavant to the RABM scene, including state surveillance, DIY theory, bands climbing bullshit social ladders, discontent with the mental restraints of modern life and the decay of the earth as a result of suburban/population growth. We are hoping to spread the free download of our new album "Into the Æther", and are hoping that you would be willing to do a post.

We feel that digital media should be free and physical releases should be as cheap as possible so as to make it so people from all walks of life can afford and enjoy music without having to spend $35+shipping on an LP thats gonna break in the mail anyways..."

P.S. Although I don't see a free download link @ their bandcamp right now (UPD: fixed), I'll post a link to their page anyway:

Another new release that might be of interest for a lot of my readers. Archivist is an international project from the members of Light Bearer (ex-Fall Of Efrafa), Anopheli and Thurm, and the double CD version of their self-titled LP is going to be physically released by Alerta Antifascista Records later this year. Just like in case with their other projects, the music is very good, and this album has an interesting post-apocalyptic storyline (you can find the lyrics on M-A, for example). "Archivist is the tale of human hubris, the end of the world, and the willingness of a child to accept the weight of our legacy."

monotrop - demo (2015)

MONOTROP "demo"

Year: 2015
Genre: Metallic Crust
Country: Germany

Track List:
  1. eines morgens
  2. öde
  3. utopia

First demo from a political DIY band with an anarchist background, based out of Bremen (Germany). At least one of their members is active in the black metal scene, and he even gives lectures on the subject of nationalism in BM at various squats. The demo, which is going to be re-released as a part of a split EP soon, consists of 3 songs in varied genres, and generally can be characterized as "metallic crust/hardcore".

Tlaloc - demo (2014)

TLALOC "demo"

Year: 2014
Genre: Neocrust / Screamo / Black Metal
Country: Russia

bandcamp

I found out about this band when their demo was posted on gnwp.ru this spring. There isn't much information about them, except they hail from SPb and self-identify as a RABM band. Their actual sound is rather close to neocrust/screamo, although the black metal influence is prominent as well. The demo was released in early 2014 and contains 3 untitled tracks. Pretty good stuff, hope to hear more from them in the future.

Wyatt E. - "Mount Sinai / Aswan" (2015)

WYATT E. "Mount Sinai / Aswan"

Year: 2015
Genre: Instrumental Doom Metal, Post-Metal
Country: Belgium

Track List:
  1. Mount Sinai
  2. Aswan
DOWNLOAD

Wyatt E. are a new metal band from Liege, Belgium, featuring members of Deuil. This EP is a concept release influenced by Middle Eastern culture and the lost civilizations, and it's going to be the first one in a set of 6 tapes to be released soon. You can read a quite detailed review of it here, if you wish. In comparison to other bands posted on here under the "oriental metal" tag, Wyatt E. are somewhat unique, because I haven't posted any doom/post-metal band of this kind before.

Belegost - "Life Ephemeral" (2011)

BELEGOST "Life Ephemeral"

Year: 2011
Genre: USBM
Country: USA

Track List:
  1. Cataclysm
  2. Staring into the Cosmic Abyss
  3. Ode
  4. Dalliance
  5. Tale of Solitude and Longing
  6. As the Veil between Night and Day Disperses
  7. Entropy
  8. Civilizational Downfall
  9. Khyldrid's Lair
  10. Moonlight Shining on Ashy Remnants
  11. Conflagration of Dogma
  12. Red Dawn
bandcamp

Belegost, formed in 2005 in Gaithersburg, Maryland, were probably one of the first vegan straight edge BM bands in existence. "Life Ephemeral" is their only release, complied in 2011 out of sporadic recordings they made during 2005-2011. It was sent to me by their member Kyle, who no longer identifies himself with green anarchism, but mentions "flirting" with such stuff (collecting zines, books by Zerzan, Jensen, Green Anarchy periodicals etc.) when they were recorded these tracks. The sound is raw, quite demo-quality,  yet there are some interesting elements and melodies. According to Kyle, the lyrics were focused on issues like man's treatment of animals, existentialism, depression, feeling apart from society, nuclear war, etc.
